As part of the celebrations to mark the 100th anniversary of Joseph Conrad’s death in 1924, the Jagiellonian University Joseph Conrad Research Centre and the Joseph Conrad Society (Poland) will hold a conference at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow from 10th to 12th October 2024.
The theme of this year’s conference is:
“Conrad’s Legacy Anno Domini 2024”
The venue of the Conference is the main building of the Faculty of Polish Language and Literature of the Jagiellonian University at 20, Gołębia Street (ulica Gołębia 20).

As part of the celebrations to mark the 100th anniversary of Joseph Conrad’s return visit to Cracow in 1914 and the 90th anniversary of his death in 1924 ― and also the 650th anniversary of the founding of the Jagiellonian University in 1364 ― the Jagiellonian University Joseph Conrad Research Centre and the Joseph Conrad Society (Poland) held a conference at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow from 28th to 29th September 2014.
The main theme of this year’s conference was:
“Poland and the Conrad Problem
(Polskie zmagania z Conradem).
Conrad’s reception in his home country and abroad.”
The venue of the Conference was the Michał Bobrzyński Room of the Collegium Maius (the University’s oldest building) at 15, Jagiellońska Street.
