The Yearbook of Conrad Studies (Poland) is an annual series devoted to the life and work of Joseph Conrad-Korzeniowski who, while being one of the great names of English literature, had a cultural background that was very much Polish and indeed ‘continental’.
The Yearbook of Conrad Studies (Poland) is currently indexed in the European Reference Index for the Humanities and Social Sciences (ERIH PLUS), the Central and Eastern European Online Library (CEEOL), the Central European Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (CEJSH) and Cambridge Scientific Abstracts (CSA Proquest, on behalf of the MLA International Bibliography).
Articles, essays and reviews must be original contributions to Conrad studies and are expected to be written both in a scholarly manner and in (good) English. It goes without saying that the editorial board of the Yearbook cannot under any circumstances condone the practices of ‘ghostwriting’, ‘guest authorship’ or the simultaneous submission of the same contribution to more than one journal.
In accordance with our current editorial policies, articles submitted for publication are read by two independent reviewers having no affiliations to the Jagiellonian University, one of whom cannot be affiliated to a university in the author's home country.
As we hold to the ‘double-blind peer review’ principle, the identities of authors will normally not be disclosed to reviewers and vice versa. In cases where this is impractical, the reviewer will be required to declare that no conflict of interest, close personal relationship or state of professional or legal dependency exists between him or her and the author of the article under review and, furthermore, that he or she has not been directly involved in any scholarly cooperation with the author for a period of at least two years.
Reviews must be made in writing and must clearly state whether the article in question should or should not be approved for publication.
